Upper School March News

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

As we approach spring break, I find myself reflecting on the powerful message shared by Otis Winston at our Celebration of Black Voices. His words—"Talent opens doors, but character keeps you in the room"—have stayed with me. They remind me that while talent and opportunity may open doors, a person’s integrity, resilience, and commitment to growth determine how far they go. Success is not just about achievement but about the values and habits that sustain it. These lessons take shape in our students every day, whether in the classroom, on the stage, or on the field. The resilience and integrity they develop here will carry them forward long after they leave Wellington.

We are a community committed to developing young people who are not just prepared for the world but ready to lead with curiosity, authenticity, ambition, empathy, and responsibility. That journey is the result of intentional partnerships—between teachers, parents, and students—where we create the conditions for young people to be their best.

I want to take a moment to thank you. Your decision to invest in your child’s education is a sacrifice we do not take lightly. Your trust in us, support, and partnership help shape the experiences that allow students to grow into the people they are meant to be.

As we head into the break, I hope you and your family find time to rest and recharge. Below, you’ll find some important updates as we look ahead to the final stretch of the school year.
